Being the
Go-To Holiday Gift that Gives Back

A lil' bit about what was happening...

Gifts of Hope lets Canadians give something that truly matters - a gift that supports girls and communities in need. But during the holidays, with endless noise from other nonprofits and corporations, Gifts of Hope gets lost in the shuffle as a great gift giving option.

The thing that was getting in our way of success...

While Gifts of Hope is meaningful, it lacks the immediate, payoff of traditional gifts.

This is because the impact isn’t experienced by the person receiving the gift. It’s felt miles away.

So, how were we going to solve this?

Make Gifts of Hope feel like the gift people are proud to give and genuinely happy to receive.

The mindset of the people we were talking to...

The holidays are high-pressure. Families gather, opinions clash, and every gift feels like a test. One wrong move can spark awkwardness or disappointment. People want their gifts to land perfectly: thoughtful, meaningful, and appreciated. They’re looking for something that’s safe yet special, a choice that takes the stress out of giving while still making a difference.

The sticky insight that got us thinking...

Giving a gift is a high-stakes moment that can make or break the holidays.

How we were going to use it...

Show how Gifts of Hope removes the worry of buying the “perfect” gift because it’s rooted in a value almost everyone shares: equality for girls.

And the one thing we needed to say...

This is a gift that feels right for everyone.

The role I played beyond the brief.

  • Partnered closely with the Associate Creative Director team to shape how the campaign could come to life in ways that were both strategically effective and creatively compelling.

  • Ensured the awareness messaging could seamlessly integrate into existing direct-response assets, allowing the campaign to work cohesively across the funnel.

  • Collaborated with the client and IAT partners to identify where messaging would have the greatest impact within a complex communications ecosystem spanning hundreds of assets.
